Coffee Shark sits quietly on Hyde Park Road, serving up a solid, unpretentious café experience in the Peverell neighborhood of Plymouth. This spot draws a steady local crowd, often those looking for a casual all-day breakfast or a good coffee fix without the fuss. The menu is straightforward yet thoughtfully composed, with breakfast staples like sourdough toast paired with bacon, eggs, and baked beans, alongside more adventurous options such as the Veggie Barracuda Hash or the French toast for a sweeter start.

The atmosphere leans towards relaxed and friendly, with staff who come across as genuinely welcoming, maintaining a pleasant and helpful vibe that makes repeated visits feel natural. It's the kind of place where dog owners bring their pets along and locals gather for a chat over a cup of coffee that's reliably well-made—neither bitter nor over-roasted. While the café is cozy, there is a small step at the entrance and some limited accessibility towards the restrooms, which might be a consideration for those with mobility needs.

Visitors tend to arrive steadily throughout the day, but mornings and brunch hours are when Coffee Shark shines. The food, largely locally sourced, leans into hearty flavors with options like homemade fish goujons and vegetarian or vegan breakfasts, appealing to a variety of diets without overwhelming choices. The environment is mellow but occasionally punctuated by the sound of coffee machines, a reminder of the craft behind each cup.

For anyone in the Peverell area looking for a no-frills place to enjoy breakfast or brunch with a reliable coffee accompaniment, Coffee Shark feels like a solid local choice. It caters well to those who appreciate simple food done well, a down-to-earth vibe, and an inclusive atmosphere where dogs are welcomed and friendly chatter fills the air.

Edit: I'm coming back here for a while to get Turkish eggs. It's amazing food and great atmosphere. They are also dog friendly and they carrot cake is mind blowing. Got only coffee from here recently, but i will definately recommend this place for atmosphere. Plus their menu is nice and simple, so no problem what to choose. Definately ill be back for some breakfast

Lovely welcoming little place. Tried the small breakfast and wasn't disappointed. All the food is locally sourced, apart from the baked beans of course. The coffee was nice, not bitter or burnt, and quite a reasonable price for both of us. Isn't wheelchair friendly as it has one small step on entering and a few to get to the toilets. We managed quite well with crutches, so not a problem with aids. Staff were friendly and helpful and the chef was visible whilst he was cooking. Really enjoyed It, and worth a visit.

A very pleasant "local" coffee shop. Really good service. The staff are friendly, helpful, cheerful and polite. The atmosphere is actually fine but the coffee machines are very noisy! hence a "4". The food looked great but I managed to resist the temptation so am unable to judge. Great overall, will return .

Superb croque Madame and sauerkraut toastie. Swapped out the ham for beetroot in the sauerkraut one and both were delicious. Great bechemel sauce. Nice coffee as well. Friendly staff.
